New Software for the Digital World
There’s a lot of new software coming out for keeping up with all your photographs.
Apple release Apeture last month, and Adobe has just annouced a beta release of Lightroom. I have a Mac here at work, so I was able to try out LightRoom and its rather nice. I’ll write up something later once I’ve played around with it.
I’ve also played around with the Demo of Portfolio 8 , by Extensis. Thats a rather nice system there also.
But what I really need, is something for the PC. Portfolio 8 is availbable for the PC, but is really expensive. And it might be a resource monster.
I’m looking for something easy, quick, and possibly cheap. I’m just starting out getting back into photography, hopefully in a semi-professional way. I’ve started doing more and more work, and I’m in need of a way to archive and keep track of software. A good photo/image management system is what I need. And maybe something with built-in image correction/manipulation would be a bonus.
Good friend, Rannie (Photojunkie ) just wrote that ACDSee is coming out with Pro Photo Manager. From what he says… it might be the app that I’m searching for.
