Secret Garden
I always seem to post… ‘sorry for no updates, been really busy’, and I really usually am so busy. I wish my life wasnt so. Life seems to come at you in waves… waves of good fortune and times, and waves of bad. All of March was really bad, and its spilling over into April.
Jake… our oldest dog (if you can call him old, he’s only 8) is really sick and fighting for his life. We think we have it narrowed down to a blood disorder thats eating away at his red blood cells. Three weeks ago, one night he was acting wierd… barely walking and not responsive. We rushed him to the emergency vets, and thought it was a really bad bladder infection. A couple of days later, still acting down and out, we take him to a regular vet and find out his got a belly full of blood and had surgery to take out his spleen. That was about 2 weeks ago… he’s been up and down having good days and then bad… and this weekend he started to have a bad day. We took him for a walk and he started to stumble and fall down. Back the the e-vets (for the 4th time) and he had a blood transfusion saturday night. He’s at home but his blood work today show’s he’s still dangerously low on blood. We’ll find out tomorrow (tuesday) what might the problem and whats causing the blood loss… and where is it going. Its not coming out and its not in his belly.
I’m so sorry you’re having a bad go at it right now. I hope everything begins to turn around for you soon.
A note on this shot, reminds me of summer afternoons as a very young child in the backyard of friends of the older members in our family. Nice feeling.
