Downtown Daytona

This was taking a while ago. Just got to developing it. This was taken with a minolta hi-matic 11 that I got off ebay. I think I might sell it. The camera only has manual controls over shutter speed and ISO… the apature is controled by the camera. The light meter in the camera seems to not want to work. I’ve tried all types of batteries, including the air-zinc 1.3v speciality battery that is suggested to use. The battery test on the camera seems to suggest that its getting the right juice… its just the sensor isnt working. So basically the camera’s apature is stuck at about f4 or f2… its almost completely open, but not (the lens opens up to a f1.7).

I shot XP2 (400) and exposed about 20 frames… about 5 came out enough on a sunny day shooting at 1/500 shutter speed. I think with a slower film on a sunny day or 400 on a cloudy day, the camera will expose properly. Most shots were over exposed. This shot and about 4 others (see my flickr) were usable. I should have written down everything I shot. oh well. Maybe i’ll take it in to a shop and see if its worth fixing.

I’ve got my eye on a black Electro-G at the flea market. My dad had one and its one of the cameras that I started off photography with.

Maybe if its not worth fixing… I’ll give it away here. :) just pay for shipping :) It does take nice pics… the lens seems nice and sharp. So maybe I’ll keep it around.
